1. Know Yourself:
“The one thing that you have that nobody else has is you. Your voice, your mind, your story, your vision.” – Neil Gaiman –
We are all unique for a reason. Stop fighting who you are. Go out there and shine!
2. Leave The Past, In The Past:
“Everybody’s got a past. The past does not equal the future unless you live there.” – Tony Robbins-
He hit the nail right on the head with this one. No explanation needed.
3. Map Out Your Life:
“A goal properly set is halfway reached.” – Zig Ziglar-
Write down your goals and embark on your journey towards being the person you’ve always wanted to be.
4. Ask For Help:
“The strong individual is the one who asks for help when he needs it.” – Rona Barrett –
Ain’t this the truth? Asking for help is not a sign of weakness. It shows humility and acceptance. Ask for help and offer your help to others.
5. Set Boundaries:
“Daring to set boundaries is about having the courage to love ourselves, even when we risk disappointing others.”-Brené Brown-
This is a hard one because we want to help others and be there as much as we can but sometimes you can’t. It’s just not realistic nor fair to yourself to do it all.
6. Be Kind To Yourself:
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? -Marianne Williamson-
Are you your biggest enemy? If so, you’re not alone but it could be the one thing that’s holding you back from greatness. Stop being mean and start cheering yourself on!
7. Set Priorities:
“You can do anything but not everything.” – David Allen –
You can’t do it all at the same time. Prioritize your life. That might mean letting some things go, re-arraging responsibilities, or switching roles. Change is good my friend. Embrace it.
8. Time Management:
“By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.” – Benjamin Franklin –
Time management can be pretty tough in today’s instant gratification atmosphere but it’s a handy tool. Set yourself up for success not failure.
9. Be Social:
“Life becomes harder for us when we live for others, but it also becomes richer and happier.” – Albert Schweitzer –
Stay connected with people that you admire, respect, love and genuinely enjoy being around. Having a social life doesn’t always have to mean you’re out partying every night. Catching up with a mentor for coffee or taking a walk with an old friend – counts too.
10. Stay Connected:
“The rhythm of the body the melody of the mind and the harmony of the soul create the symphony of life.” – BKS Iyengar –
Stay connected with your body, mind and spirit. Regardless of whether you consider yourself to be spiritual, religious or none of those things – give yourself time to relax, to breathe, to reflect and to be one with all that you are.
